? What is Scotland’s Favourite Car

Scotland’s favourite cars range from the small economy car to the high end 4×4.
Although the weather in Scotland can be harsh and may require a car that is capable of tackling the rough terrain in cold conditions Scotland also has busy cities like Edinburgh which can prove difficult for parking. Long commuting journeys are also required for those living in more rural and isolated areas. A strong 4×4 was one of Scotland’s favourite vehicles, as proven by Jaguar Land Rover clearing up at the 2013 Scottish Car of the Year Awards. However, Scottish Car of the Year 2014 in the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers (ASMV) awards was won by the Hyundai i10. This clearly highlights the change in what is needed to meet the Scottish people’s requirements.
According to Stephen Park, Secretary, Association of Scottish Motoring Writers, the Hyundai i10 was voted Scottish Car of the Year 2014 because “The original i10 was good but the New Generation i10 is brilliant. It boasts all the essential small car credentials – economy, low emissions, and ease of manoeuvrability – but adds further appeal in the form of improved looks, is great to drive and the sort of comfort which stops long journeys from being a chore. A five-year warranty sealed the deal to make the Hyundai i10 the judges’ favourite.”
Scotland is also an important market for the high-end car like the Range Rover, who pride themselves on designing and manufacturing high quality and top performance vehicles, as many of the roads in the country require the use of a sturdy, durable 4×4.
